What's new
Every release of LockMyDesk for Mac, iPhone and Apple Watch.
-
Macs on another Apple ID. Your Mac can now show a pairing code, from the
menu bar or Settings › Remote. Scan it in the iPhone app and that Mac locks
from your phone, even when it's signed in to a work Apple ID or has iCloud
turned off.
-
Battery and heat at a glance. When your iPhone is on the same Wi-Fi as
your Mac, the app shows the Mac's battery level, whether it's charging, and how
hot it's running (Normal, Warm, Hot or Overheating), right under the lock status.
Needs 1.1 on both the Mac and the iPhone.
-
Clearer last seen. Settings on the iPhone shows when each Mac last checked
in, as “Seen 5 minutes ago”, instead of an unlabelled timer counting up.
-
Safer walk-away locking. New defaults lock sooner and closer: when the
signal drops below −50 dBm, or 5 seconds after your iPhone drops out
entirely. Fixed: after unlocking, walk-away locking could stay stuck on
“Waiting for you to come back” with your iPhone right beside the Mac.
-
Reset Pairing. One button on the Mac cuts off every device that paired by
code, and lists who had access.
-
Watch secrets in the Keychain. The Apple Watch keeps each Mac's pairing key
in its own Keychain rather than in the app's settings. Older builds migrate on
first launch.
-
A clearer Pro sheet. One price, one button, and everything Pro adds on a
single screen, iPad included. Settings now says plainly whether you're on Free
or Pro.
-
Fixed: long Mac names wrap inside the iPhone's lock button instead of
spilling out of it.
- Lock your Mac's screen from your iPhone, your Apple Watch, a widget or Siri. You stay signed in and every app keeps running.
- Instant on the same Wi-Fi, with the Mac confirming it locked. Away from home, the lock travels through your own iCloud account.
- Walk-away locking: your iPhone broadcasts over Bluetooth and your Mac locks once you leave, with your choice of distance and delay.
- Honest lock status: live on the same network, otherwise the last known state, labelled with its age.
- Menu bar or Dock on the Mac, switchable any time.
- One Mac free forever. LockMyDesk Pro, $3.99 once, adds every other Mac and walk-away locking.
